Papua New Guinea Mask: Classic example of Papuan New Guinea art in the form of a mask made from mud, a turtle shell a few lyre bird feathers and ochre pigment. i acquired this in 1988 from a dealer who had personally bought it along the Upper Sepik River and it was around 30 to 40 years old when he got it, so this can be credibly dated to around 1960/1950. There is some pigment loss and a crack in the mud on the side noted in enlargements. h: 22cm/18.5in and W;16.5/6.5
